To cool the massive engine of the GTO, we selected our largest oil cooler for the task.
The 25-row stacked-plate cooler will effectively maintain oil at an optimal temperature.
At the other end of this GTO oil cooler kit is a specially designed oil line adapter that bolts to the oil filter housing for the attachment of our -an stainless steel lines.
The tight space restrictions eliminated the option of using a thermostatic sandwich plate, which we utilize on most of our other direct-fit oil cooler kits.
Instead, our in-line oil thermostat regulates oil temperatures.
This meticulously designed thermostat mounts under the headlight using its own direct-fit bracket and will ensure your oil remains at a stable 185 degrees.
During the testing process of this GTO oil cooler, the in-line thermostat was not utilized to eliminate it as a regulating variable.
This means oil flows constantly through the cooler during testing, and these tests indicated a 65-degree oil temperature drop.
