This amazing fabric is constructed by weaving durable polyester solution-dyed fabric from a Nextec mill partner, followed by the application of pre-finishing chemistries that prepare it for the encapsulation process.
A viscous patented mixture of silicone-based polymers is then applied to the fabric using Nextec proprietary equipment.
Energy (heat and pressure) is applied to the polymers, working them inside the fabric and wrapping the individual fade-resistant fibers.
All but the smallest spaces (or 'micro holes') are filled.
The process is completed by curing the polymers to a solid state in specially-designed ovens, making the fabric ready for garments, gear, and vehicle covers.
No laminates or surface coating are used.
