The blue 3" intake charge pipe from HPS Performance for the BMW N55B30 engine was designed with reliability as the primary goal.
Our initial analysis on a 2011 BMW 335i test vehicle revealed that the factory charge pipe was made with inferior materials.
After just 60k miles, the factory charge pipe began to show signs of wear, with the throttle body connector flange barely holding on due to breakage.
The original part was reverse engineered by the HPS R&D team to create a product that meets all necessary criteria; Durability, Performance, and Style.
Constructed from 6063 aluminum, the HPS charge pipe features a billet CNC flange designed for longevity.
It includes HPS's signature high temperature 4-ply reinforced silicone coupler and heavy duty 100% stainless steel T-bolt clamps for connection to the intermediate intercooler pipe.
A brand new O-ring for the throttle body connector is included, as the original equipment is known to deteriorate over time.
The HPS turbo charge pipe also comes with a 1/8" NPT bung for options like methanol injection or boost gauges (including nitrous systems).
Installation can be completed in under 30 minutes using basic hand tools and does not require permanent modification or ECU reflash.
Avoid being stranded with a broken charge pipe by replacing your old plastic charge pipe with the HPS Performance Charge Pipe for your N55 powered E8x/E9x vehicle.
