The db Skin is a water-based, sprayable vibration damping compound engineered to damp vibration by converting it into low-level heat.
Loaded with silica-mica and ceramic components, the db Skin creates friction when vibration occurs.
You can cover large surface areas very quickly when using a 'shutz' spray gun.
When wet, it appears purple, and as it cures, it changes to black.
The db Skin is also used to improve the performance of all types of speaker enclosures and is commonly applied on the inside of outer body panels.
In wood enclosures, the db Skin soaks into the wood and seals the pores, seams, and gaps between the panels.
It also dampens fiberglass and plastic enclosures extremely well.
When cured, the db Skin creates an impedance mismatch that results in an increase in overall output by 1 to 1.5 db.
No special tools are required for installation; however, a 'shutz' spray gun will save a large amount of installation time.
The db Skin can also be applied with a paintbrush or roller.
Cleanup is easy with warm water.
