The internal faces of the Day/Night mirror glass are not parallel, allowing for a manual tab adjustment to switch between day and night positions.
In the day position, the front face is slanted, and the reflective back-side offers a strong reflection.
When switched to the night position, the reflective rear face is angled out of the driver’s sight.
The non-reflective front allows most light to pass through, reflecting only a small amount into the driver’s eyes.
