Product Description The FRS-R-35 Bussmann series is a dual-element, time-delay Class RK5 fuse and is part of the FUSETRON line of fuses.
Its design features dual elements for optimal time-delay, ensuring protection for equipment such as power panelboards, combination starters, motor control centers, machinery disconnects, and safety switches.
Fuses with dual elements include separate overload and short-circuit elements, providing the same short circuit protection as a fast-acting fuse while allowing inrush currents to pass without opening the fuse.
As a time-delay fuse, it accommodates temporary overload conditions without opening.
This is essential for equipment that frequently experiences short-term power surges, such as during motor or transformer startups.
The time-delay feature permits inrush current from the motor or transformer to start without opening while still protecting against sustained overloads and short circuits.
This also reduces the need to replace fuses that expire due to normal inrush overloads.
