Lava Tube is a tube-shaped thermal barrier product designed to protect components sensitive in environments with excessive ambient temperatures and direct heat.
The material is a specially formulated fibrous thermal barrier weave from Heatshield Products made from volcanic rock - extremely durable against chemical exposure and abrasions.
The basalt fiber allows Lava Tube to protect from continuous temperatures of 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit and intermittent temperatures of 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
This makes Lava Tube an ideal alternative and superior to silicon-based thermal barrier sleeves in applications above 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
Lava Tube has been designed with a special hook-and-loop fastener system, so it can be installed without the need for disassembling lines and components or removing hoses.
Lava Tube is available in four diameters ranging from 1/2-inch to 1 1/2-inches, and either 3-foot long or 10-foot long rolls.
Custom lengths are also available.
It can be cut easily to length.
