Heat Screen from Design Engineering addresses the issue of heat from engines and exhaust intruding into interiors and components.
An excellent way to reflect radiant heat away from a vehicle's interior, Heat Screen is flexible and can be trimmed-to-size to protect against excessive heat sources.
Made of a high temperature resistant fiberglass material, with a thickness of only .06", Heat Screen has a thermal barrier on one side made of a superior reflective aluminized mylar surface, capable of withstanding direct heat up to 1200°F.
It can be used to protect areas where excessive heat can blister paint, where exhaust pipes run close to the fuel tank, and has many other applications including body panels, floorboards, and under carpeting.
Available with or without an adhesive backing, a high temperature adhesive such as DEI's Hi-Temp Spray Adhesive or Heat Resistant Sealant (each sold separately) can be applied to secure the non-adhesive backed Heat Screen as well as mechanical fasteners like screws or rivets.
Ideal for sealing and covering seams, DEI's Cool Tape (sold separately) is also available.
