AWE Intercoolers Performance for Porsche 997TT
During the development of AWE's turbo kits for the 997TT, excessively high intake air temperatures were encountered.
Upon inspecting the stock intercoolers, AWE discovered they were identical to the 996TT X50/GT2 design, which is suitable for up to 600hp but not much more.
As AWE's power goals exceeded 700hp and no OEM option was available, a new intercooler system was created.
AWE's cores are 37% larger (422 cubic inches vs 308 cubic inches) and feature a high-flow bar and plate style, with intake temperatures improved by 55F and pressure resistance dropped by 1 psi.
The kit includes silicone hoses with gentle curves, stainless steel t-bolt clamps, and Nomex braiding for superior strength.
AWE's intercoolers address heat-related issues from increased turbo boost.
