It utilizes a chain with a solid bushing that rolls on a true bearing surface with the sprocket, eliminating chain stretch.
The cam sprockets are made from cast iron with a tensile strength of 35,000 PSI, while the crank sprockets are machined from SAE 1144 stress-proof Billet steel and are induction heat treated.
A maximum advance or retard at the camshaft of 2 degrees and at the crankshaft of 4 degrees is allowed.
