The C5C Hydraulic Hose from Gates is recommended for hydraulic oils based on petroleum, engine lubricating oils, glycol antifreeze compounds, and air.
It meets requirements for fuel and B20 biodiesel fuel transfer applications under SAE 30R2, SAE 30R6, and SAE 30R7 up to +125°F.
This hose is not recommended for applications involving pressure surge or vibration.
One braid of high-tensile carbon steel wire reinforces the hose over one braid of polyester.
The tube is made of black, oil and heat resistant synthetic rubber (Neoprene - Type A) for sizes -4 and -5, and (Nitrile - Type C) for sizes -6 through -40.
C5 Field Attachable Couplings are recommended for this hose.
The temperature ranges are as follows: Under SAE 100R5 (hydraulic) conditions -40°F to +212°F (-40°C to +100°C).
For all-purpose fleet applications (hot lube oil lines), the range is -40°F to +300°F (-40°C to +149°C).
Air applications can be used up to +160°F (+71°C) only.
Continuous use at maximum temperature concurrent with maximum working pressures should be avoided.
