The new HKS S-Type Intercooler for the Subaru WRX STI has been introduced.
Developed specially for the STI kit, the new S-type core aims to improve response.
The pipe layout is designed to be as straight and short as possible, addressing the typical slow response of front mount layouts.
It enables boost response that is as quick as the stock intercooler.
When stopped, the stock top mount intercooler core retains heat from the engine compartment, which can lead to knocking and engine damage when the car starts.
The front mount intercooler reduces intake air temperature by 20 deg.
C compared to the stock intercooler, allowing for safe and reliable tuning.
