To cool the massive engine of the GTO, we selected our largest oil cooler for the task.
The 25-row stacked-plate cooler will effectively maintain oil at an optimal temperature.
On the other end of this oil cooler kit for the GTO is a specially designed oil line adapter that bolts to the oil filter housing for the attachment of our -an stainless steel lines.
The tight space restrictions eliminated the option of using a thermostatic sandwich plate, which we typically use on most of our other direct-fit oil cooler kits.
Instead, our in-line oil thermostat regulates oil temperatures.
This meticulously designed thermostat mounts under the headlight using its own direct-fit bracket and ensures your oil stays at a consistent 185 degrees.
During the testing of this GTO oil cooler, the in-line thermostat was not utilized to eliminate it as a regulating variable.
This means oil continuously flowed through the cooler during testing, and these tests indicated a 65-degree oil temperature drop.
