The housing is machined from a billet of 6061-T6 aluminum on a CNC machine that is state-of-the-art, producing exact tolerances.
Modified blocks can take advantage of the O-ring seals to help maintain proper pressure.
For stability at high rpm, a .500" steel shaft is supported by a sealed ball bearing and a long sintered bushing.
This shaft receives a QPQ coating for resistance to corrosion and friction reduction.
A precision machined reluctor is attached to the shaft, which triggers the magnetic pickup mounted in the housing.
This high output magnetic pickup is the most accurate way to trigger your ignition.
Plus, with no moving parts to adjust or wear, the pickup is maintenance-free.
Just above the pickup is MSD's adjustable mechanical advance assembly.
Different springs and stop bushings are supplied so you can tune an advance curve to match your application.
MSD's Billet Distributors have been redesigned with many new features, including a race rotor and alkyd cap and a new billet base with full CNC Pro Billet design.
The advance assembly is QPQ coated for corrosion resistance.
