Forged from a chrome-molly billet, this flywheel undergoes heating and impact from a large 5000-ton mechanical forge, yielding an ultra fine grain structure in the metal, making it the strongest flywheel available.
To make the Prolite Xact the lightest flywheel that ACT offers, machined slots are used to carefully remove some material.
The resulting low inertia reduces drivability compared to a heavier stock flywheel, but in return, you get quicker throttle response and acceleration preferred for road racing.
