From the Manufacturer The Ready-to-Run Pro-Billet distributor is the perfect upgrade for outdated points distributors or bulky HEI's.
To install the distributor in the engine, connect three wires and the coil is all that is required!
A magnetic pickup that is maintenance-free accurately triggers this ignition.
The amplifier's increased output easily outperforms stock ignitions and will smooth out the engine's idle, improve starting and provide a much higher rpm range.
For stability and endurance, a top mounted sealed ball bearing guides an oversized steel shaft that spins while an extra long sintered bushing guides the shaft at the base of the housing.
This shaft also receives a QPQ coating for low friction wear and resistance against corrosion from humidity and ozone buildup.
The Ready-to-Run features MSD's adjustable mechanical advance which allows you to tailor an ignition curve to match your engine's needs.
There is also a vacuum advance canister to help improve economy.
For positive street performance, the Ready-to-Run is the best choice.
NOTE: Supplied with a cap, rotor and vacuum advance.
If replacing a GM HEI, a Blaster SS coil and coil wire are required (this is available in a kit, PN 8474).
