Rod Bolt Stretch Gauge ARP 100-9941
The ARP rod bolt stretch gauge is standard and highly recommended for use when installing rod bolts and other fasteners where measuring the length of the bolt after tightening is possible.
It is the most accurate method to determine the correct pre-load in the rod bolt.
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions, measure the fastener before starting, and monitor overall length during installation.
When the bolt has stretched the specified amount, the correct preload or torque has been applied.
ARP recommends maintaining a chart of all rod bolts and recording the length of the fastener before and after installation.
If there is a permanent increase of .001?
in length or more, or if deformation occurs, the bolt should be replaced immediately.
