The Transmission Controller (STC) for Sniper is designed for common Ford and GM electronic 4 speed transmissions.
It covers a complete range of applications for all Sniper EFI systems, specific to Sniper 2 EFI (M8 CAN connection), or as a full standalone unit.
The Sniper specific applications connect via CAN bus to your Sniper EFI system and are programmed through the existing 3.5-inch touchscreen (not included).
Programming is not available with PC computer software, but the transmission functions can be logged and reviewed with Sniper PC software.
The standalone version is primarily intended for carbureted engine combinations.
Ford and GM 4 speed electronic overdrive transmissions have an overdrive top gear and all feature a lockup torque converter that eliminates slippage when the lockup is applied.
With a stock torque converter, the lockup should only be applied under light throttle conditions to prevent excessive wear.
Upshifts, downshifts, and torque converter lockup are adjustable based on vehicle speed and throttle position (or optionally the MAP sensor) using a 3.5-inch touchscreen (not included).
This is a replacement/service unit only; the handheld is not included but is available for purchase.
A MAP sensor is required if using MAP for line pressure, commonly on forced induction applications.
Transmission harnesses are sold separately, and this product is not compatible with 4WD installations.
