If larger or smaller tires than original equipment tires have been installed, or if a ring and pinion gear set with a different rear gear ratio has been installed, the Max Energy Spectrum allows re-programming for correct speedometer readings, as well as for correct part-throttle shifting.

The vehicle’s computer calculates speed based on the diameter of the stock tires.

If taller or shorter tires have been installed, or the rear gear ratio has changed, the vehicle’s computer does not know how fast the vehicle is going.

As a result, the automatic transmission may not shift correctly, and speedometer readings will not be accurate as required by law.
