ACL race rod bearings for the Nissan RB20DET engine are manufactured with a tri-layer metal and a hardened steel backing to withstand high RPM conditions, high stress loads, and high temperatures.
Each design of ACL race bearing features a large chamfer to accommodate larger crankshaft fillets, a 3/4 groove to maximize oil supply to rods and load carrying capacity, increased crush and tighter wall tolerance for better seating, improved overlay and reduced thickness for increased fatigue strength, and a hardened steel backing to maintain crush under high loads and temperatures.
