The Sure Seat Valve Spring by Edelbrock is made from the highest quality spring wire and is precision wound to close tolerances.
Designed for use on original equipment heads with Performer-Plus, Performer RPM, and Torker-Plus camshafts, the basic purpose of a valve spring is to close the valve while also keeping the valve train in contact with the cam lobe.
Adequate seat pressure is provided by good valve springs to ensure a tight fit between the valve face and the valve seat, sealing the combustion chamber.
The valve spring seats protect aluminum heads and locate the valve spring to prevent movement at higher engine speeds.
Checking the clearance between the rocker arm and the retainer is required before starting the engine.
Compatibility between valve spring rates and camshafts is necessary to avoid valve float and severe engine damage.
