Fuel Filter Drain Valve Seal Kit (Viton) for 7.3L Power Strokes, late model.
This kit covers applications from 1998 to 2003 and consists of seals contained in kits F81Z-9C065-AA.
A rash of complaints regarding “fuel in the engine valley” on 7.3L Power Stroke has been reported, which are traced to leaking fuel filter drain valve o-rings.
While there’s no proof that the leaks are due to the introduction of ULSD, some may conclude that the timing is more than coincidental.
Servicing the leaks typically requires removing the filter assembly from the engine and replacing the drain valve o-rings.
Although the two drain valve o-rings are the usual suspects, we advise replacing the remaining three o-rings as well, and since the fuel lines have been disconnected, the fuel line connector grommets should also be replaced.
To facilitate sourcing the various seals, Alliant Power offers the AP0007 Fuel Filter Drain Valve Seal Kit, which includes all seals necessary for the repair.
