Copper lead Trimetal bearings have answered the demand for higher load applications and now comprise ACL’s current range of Duraglide and Race Series engine bearings.

As the world becomes more environmentally conscious, the demand for lead-free engine components has risen, without sacrificing the load carrying capacity required for modern engines.

The addition of silicon as an alloying element to the Aluminium Tin family of bearing materials has elevated it to the next generation of performance materials.

Most Original Equipment (OE) manufacturers currently choose this option as the global mandate for lead-free vehicles is enforced.

In line with these global trends, ACL Bearing Company began a development program in the late 1990s to create a high strength aluminium-based lead-free material that serves as a suitable alternative to traditional bearing materials and to address all customers' tribological needs.
